MARK WATSON
Principal, Eaton Arrowsmith School
Learning Differences/Disabilities has been a field of interest for me since I was diagnosed with Dyslexia early on in elementary school. My experiences with education early on helped me to develop an interest in understanding different learning profiles in more depth. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in 2001 from the University of Alberta in Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation. My formal career in education began in 2001 with the Eaton Coull Learning Group where I worked with education professionals (District Administrators, Principals and Teachers) to help students with learning disabilities better understand the nature of their learning difference/disability and then devise & implement a plan steer around these difficulties in learning. I worked in this capacity from 2001-2005 and gathered a wealth of knowledge about the best compensation methods for students with learning disabilities. The work that we do here is in complete contrast as it enables students with LD to improve their specific areas of weakness, which I admire and respect on a both a personal and professional level. Since September 2005 as a cognitive teacher I have seen first hand the overwhelmingly positive impact that strengthening specific neurological capacities can have in all aspects of a student’s life. As the Principal of EAS I look forward to working closely with our Director, Vice-Principals, administrative staff, teachers and students to ensure that we continue to provide our students with the highest quality educational experience possible. |

KRISTIN HARBUT
Principal, Magnussen School
I received my degree in Psychology from UBC while working full time at a Vancouver based Advertising Agency. I was driven to pursue my dream to teach, and continued my education at UBC completing a second degree in Education with a concentration in Special Education. I love learning and am currently finishing a diploma through the UBC Department of Counseling Psychology. I have been trained as a Cognitive teacher through the Arrowsmith Program in Toronto, and worked as a Cognitive teacher this past year at the Eaton Arrowsmith school. This summer I had the opportunity to become a certified teacher through the All Kinds of Minds: Schools Attuned program which is accredited through the University of San Diego. Schools Attuned gives educators the ability to analyze individual student's strengths and weaknesses through an understanding of neurodevelopmental profiles. Along with extensive training from Howard Eaton, I have also had the opportunity to train through Gordon Neufeld’s workshops which are specifically designed for teachers to help understand the psychological factors that affect learning and behavior. |

JEN GERULLIS
Manager, Eaton Brain Improvement Centre
With an undergrad in geography and an adventurous spirit, Jen has spent many years working in beautiful locales and meeting incredible people from all over the world. She has taught ESL (English as a Second Language) in South America, managed a helicopter skiing lodge in the backcountry of BC and worked as an administrative assistant in a boutique graphic design studio in Vancouver. Throughout her working career, she has always been interested in psychology, spirituality and volunteering her time to help others. Her curiosity led her to the field of neuroplasticity and eventually to the Arrowsmith Program® and Howard Eaton. She is thrilled to be a part of Eaton Brain Improvement Centre where she can witness the positive changes in client’s lives as they work through the brain exercises. When she is not reading, you can find her riding her road bike, skiing at Whistler or learning how to play guitar. |
